About Marley and Charley

About Marley and Charley
Where can I even begin to talk about these amazing creatures?! I will just say, they are the best! Family dogs like no other. They thrive on torture by the kids! Ha.  I have to be honest, I was never a "dog person", however, my kids begged and begged. My mom's friends had some great Golden Retrievers and once I started researching, I learned they were one of the best family pets, so I took a chance and got Marley and then Charley.  What a wonderful decision! Both dogs are registered with the AKC. (www.akc.org)

About Marley Brown Miglicco
Marley came from a breeder in East Texas. Marley was born into a very small litter. The breeders immediately took a liking to Marley and gave her extra TLC. I don't know if this contributed to her temperament or not, but Marley oozes sweetness. When we got Marley, I had a 9 month old and was skeptical about her being in the house. From day one, Marley was gentle and patient with all of my three boys. She was poked, prodded, rode, pinched, and never, ever, once made any type of mean gesture. When Marley was about 12 weeks old, she attended 6 weeks of basic training. She caught on the commands very quickly, proving to be one of the brightest dogs in the class.  While in the class, she got along well with others and respected those who told her to "back off".  She continues to be a very good- natured dog, getting along with others and being nice to all people she encounters. She loves to take car rides and often will nudge you while you drive to rest her head under your arm. She loves to be loved!

More child's torture..... The baby decided Marley needed her face colored with a marker. I never knew he was doing that until she came out from under the table with him. Poor Marley!

 About Charley Brown Miglicco
After falling madly in love with Marley, we decided she needed a friend so we got Charley from a breeder in San Antonio. We picked Charley out when he was three weeks old and made weekly visits to see him. He was a sweetheart from day one and we all had an instant bond with him. My husband wanted Charley because his father was a great hunter, traveling all around the country on hunts.  Charley is a great retriever.  The best way to describe Charley is an old soul. Charley has been like an old man since day one. He has never jumped on anyone, he lays around and "chills". He loves the kids and the kids love him. He tolerates ANYTHING. Marley does too, but Marley will walk off when she has had enough, Charley just continues to tolerate it.  He has been ridden, had his eyes nearly gouged out on numerous occasions, as well as laid on and loved on tremendously. Charley will bark to warn, but ultimately would welcome a robber with a big lick on the face!

Charley when we first got him.
My two dogs! Haha.

My loves. These are truly the best family animals. If you are interested in animals who love kids, these are the dogs for you! I am so excited to see what these two breed together!
